Namaste, welcome to new challenge at AAA birthday challenge. Its time to blow some balloons for birthday, yes the theme for the challenge is Balloons. For more inspiration look here.

I made a card with CB birthday balloon stamp set. Is a retired stamp set but i love this set. I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the images. To make ny background i used mft cloud stencil. I stamped and masked the sentiment and then stamped the strings for balloons. Initially i thought of popping the c]balloons with foam tape but then just glued on the front panel then glued the panel on blue card base.

Do you love balloons? let me know in the comment.

HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS – ONE STENCIL 3 CARDS

Namaste everyone..

Swapna here for HLS stencil challenge. I am so exited to be back with HLS and with Stencil team. So this space will be filled with all my stencil experiments for a while. So lets get started. The challenge is ANYTHING GOES with stencil.

Initially I thought of taking different stencil every month and play with new technique every month. Then I thought of challenging myself a bit more and adding an Indian festival with my each post.

So I will be briefing a little bit about the festival on which the card set is made.

This is month of January and during this month around 14 or 15th comes Makar Sankranti or Lohri (There were actually 5 calenders which Hindus fallowed and this is the only festival which celebrated by the Solar calendar) . This is actually the time of season change from winter to summer, when sun rays start falling directly on Tropic of cancer from Tropic of Capricorn. This festival is celebrated by sharing Gingelly seeds and Jaggery, gingelly seeds to nourish the body which has lost a lot of moisture during winter and jaggery to cutdown the bitterness of gingelly seeds. Jaggery or Sugar cane is in particular as its the crop of this time.

So coming to my card. The colours are bright to depict Sun. The design in stencil depicts my way of telling earth movement and change from Winter to Summer. Sentiment says Good wishes in Sanskrit. I made one more card with same sentiment but in Kannada sentiment.

Now comes the second festival/event which is related to this Astronomical phenomenon. Sankranti marks the process of change(as earth is a huge body it takes some days for it) and end of it marks RATH SAPTAMI, Ratha means Chariot Saptami means 7th day of the month, generally we say Sun climbed chariot which means beginning of Summer . Its on 19th of February.

Coming to my card now, actually its my favorite among 3. The center image is heat embossed and it depicts sun being supreme and the matted label depicts chariot. The embossed background says transition.

I hope you liked my little effort in using my craft supplies to celebrate festivals. If you liked this effort and wish me to continue this series please let me know in comments. I will try my best to do so.

You’re Fabulous

Hello, Welcome to my blog again. This month’s challenge at A Blog Named Hero is up and here is my take on the challenge. Last week was A Blog Named Hero’s 5th birthday and we had a huge bloghop, if you missed the event then no problem you can still have a look at all the projects of Day 1 & Day 2.

I firstly used a die to trace over on a white card panel which will guide me to stamp flowers. I used flowers from Hero arts Hello sunshine stamp and stamped them with black ink, used the same die which I used to trace and partial die cut the circle. I fussy cut the flowers which were inside the circle area.

Used Hero arts ink cubes to blend on the card base, stamped sentiment from Colour layering Flamingo.

Theme of this month’s challenge over at A Blog Named Hero is FLORAL, so create your project with florals and link them to the challenge. And don’t forget to use the logo of the challenge.

Happy day – Jane’s doodles

Hi.. Friends…
Swapna here with my first challenge post for A Blog Named Hero. This month our collaborating partner is Jane’s doodle , the designs are so amazing and lovely, I bet you will fall in love with them.

Now coming to our Challenge is CAS so what are you waiting for just take out your supplies and get creative and don’t forget to link your project to our challenge.

Here is my take on the challenge

I stamped and coloured trees from the set with black ink, fussy cut them out. I die cut a circle from kraft card stock and used few shades of brown and blue to create sky and sand for my background. Foam mounted the kraft panel on a2 top folding white card base. Glued one tree flat on the base and another with foam tape, heat embossed the sentiment ( from Jane’s doodles wise owl ) on black scrap card stock and glued flat on the card.

Here is closer look at all the dimensions and colouring of the images.

 Loved the pop of black

Peek-a-tute Stretch your stamps with Peek-a-boo designs stamps

Hi… Crafty friends…

My today’s post is bit different. We all buy such expensive craft items but over the time we stop using it just because we get short of ideas because we see a flower stamp as flower stamp. Just look at it in different way so we can get more out of our stamps. So today I am trying my best to stretch my stash and you, yes YOU all going to judge how far i succeeded in my take on Stretching the stamp. By the way our Challenge for this month is colour inspiration challenge,

Card #1

For my two cards i am using Splitter Splater set.

* I used the solid canopy stamp from the set and inked with color box inks (tried to overlap two inks to get ombre effect).
* I used colours according to our on going challenge.
* I fussy cut each canopy once the ink is dry (these are similar to pigment inks so take time to dry )
* For one I trimmed the image more for other two kept as they were.
* Arranged them as butterfly around flourish.
* Stamped the sentiment.

Card #2

After the first card i thought how much more I can use this set so came the second card.
* I prepared my white panel for heat embossing.
* Stamped sun image with versamark ink.
* Sprinkled ranger liquid platinum embossing powder and heat set it.
* Once it cooled down I used distress inks and blended them diagonally on the panel.
* Trimmed it a bit, glued a black trip of CS
* Heat embossed sentiment on vellum.
* Added two clouds and sun to hide the glue.
** Sentiment is from same set, selective stamping

Card #3

* I took the small boat image and stamped it in a pattern repeatedly with versamark ink, sprinkled ranger gold embossing powder ( I wanted the pattern to show) and heat embossed it.
* Repeated same with large boat stamp.
* Going with the colour challenge applied distress inks.
* Then embossed front of vellum card base through bigshot with We r memory keepers next level embossing folder.
* I mounted the gems i made with boat images one on top of the other with foam square.
* I then cut 4 strips from grey CS, heat embossed sentiment in gold. Glued it on the front.
* To hide the glue i glued another strip on the back, n repeated same on the other flap of the card.
** Sentiment is from same set, selective stamping

One layer card – Mamaelephant

Hi..
Here I am with another one layer card. Its really difficult to make one layer card (at least for me), still gave it a try. Its a 5×7″ top folding card.
I used a white card base, mama elephant stamps for this card. Stamped ice bergs distress inks n then blended colour with little water. Stamped penguin and umbrella in its hand, coloured umbrella. Used few warm colours to make sky and sun. Die cut a circle applied distress inks and popped it with foam tape. Stamped sentiment partially.
To finish off I applied glossy accent over sun and umbrella.

This is my way to depict the global warming. Every animal on earth is facing side effects of global warming and trying to fight against it.

I was inspired by Sandie’s card, so used the overall image as inspiration.

Enjoy sunshine

Hi..
Here I am with my another card with SUMMER colour theme and stencil again.
I used 5×7″ top folding white card base, secured it to the work surface with masking tape. Used few distress inks in Yellow-Orange shade and a stencil from TCW. I love love this stencil.
Stamped the sentiment with Versafine black ink. Finished card with a black strip of paper and few enamel dots.

I love enamel dots alot, but never bought them because of their price. Then found these Indian made, economical collection of enamel dots.

Stencil – Card

Hi…
Here I am with another card with stencil. Whatever I do, I go back to stencils very often. In past I had made a set of cards using same stencil which can see HERE.

Now coming to this card. I used a water colour paper, created mask by die cutting circle. I needed both -ve and +ve of the mask for card.

I placed -ve of the mask over the panel, placed the stencil and blended distress inks. Then i carefully removed -ve mask and placed +ve mask n secured stencil on same place and applied some yellow – orange shades on distress inks.
For sentiment i used SSS circle sentiment, stamped and die cut the sentiment. Used another heart circle stamp, stamped it with black ink and at the centre stamped a heart in yellow n orange inks, die cut it out.
I mounted the stenciled panel on a black CS then this piece on yellow card base with foam tape. Then i mounted circle sentiment and heart circle cut out with foam tape. Applied glossy accent on yellow heart. I needed few more accents for card, so die cut few hearts -applied black wink of stella – then glossy accent. They make really nice embellishments.
Math in the card – Concentric circles have same centre with various radius.

Copic clouring – Birthday card

Hi..
Here I am with my second attempt in copic colouring. I love colouring but I never get satisfied with my colouring. Off lately loving monster stamps. And my first monster stamp is from Your next stamp. They have lovely stamps.
I stamped, and coloured the image with copics. Then fussy cut it (which I dont like though). Then i die cut a square on the front panel of the card, stamped the sentiment with black ink and used the same to draw lines (with light hand) to guide me to make the night sky on the card base. Then stamped few stars on the ink blended area. Placed the front panel with foam tape. Then placed the monster image with foam tape too.
